In 2007, after the failure of the English-language album, the “Metamorfoz” album was released in Turkish. The album sold 300,000 copies in the first two weeks. Four songs were filmed in music videos. On July 29, 2010, Tarkan released his eighth studio album “Adime Kabine Yaz”, consisting of eight new songs and one remix of each song. The album received an enthusiastic reception from fans and critics and already sold 300,000 copies throughout Turkey in its first week.
After a long break, on March 11, 2016, Tarkan presented the digital release of his long-awaited ninth album, Ahde Vefa. On this album, the singer once again went for experiments, recording all the songs in the style of Turkish folk music. Despite the total lack of advertising and single releases, the album became a hit immediately upon release, topping the iTunes charts in the Americas, in England, Denmark, Holland and Germany, in a total of 19 countries worldwide, thus proving that Tarkan is still popular.
